The Pacific Regional Conference

The High Level Regional Conference on climate change in the Pacific, organised by the European Commission and supported by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, was hosted by the Government of Vanuatu in Port Vila on 4th March 2011.

This Conference provided an opportunity to Pacific Countries and Territories, EU partners and Pacific Regional Organisations to take forward their joint climate change agenda.

Indeed, high level participants in the Conference provided the necessary guidance for the implementation of the Joint Pacific EU Initiative on Climate Change, launched by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and the European Commission, by the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding in Strasbourg on 15th December 2010. see the press release.
