Joint Declarations on Climate Change

One of the two pillars of the GGCA is to improve dialogue on climate change between the EU, target countries and regions.

The objective of the dialogue is to support the convergence of visions between Europe and developing countries on the negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in order to gather support for the Copenhagen Accord and achieve a comprehensive post-2012 climate regime that limits global warming to a maximum of 2ºC.

The EU is currently working on a Joint Declaration with vulnerable developing countries in the Asia region. The Joint Asia-EU Declaration on climate change was delivered at the end of the Asia Regional Conference, taking place in Dhaka (Bangladesh) on May 30-31, 2010.
