Fridays for Climate | Trinidad and Tobago: Reducing aviation emissions
Piarco International Airport in Trinidad & Tobago celebrated a milestone in the creation of a solar park with a tree planting ceremony. ✈️
The solar park will generate a clean, sustainable, green, renewable source of energy that is key to fighting climate change. Trinidad & Tobago annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions account for less than 1 % of global emissions, but the island is high up in the world ranking of per-capita emissions.
The European Union trough GCCA+ assists Trinidad and Tobago in reaching its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and its national policy target of 10% of total electricity generated from renewable energy sources by 2021. 🌍
