Since 2008, the GCCA+ initiative had reached across continents in support of over 70 national programmes specifically targeting Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Since 2016, the GCCA+ is also providing support to middle income countries (such as Ghana) by supporting their efforts to pursue climate action according to the priorities of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) identified for the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement.
In developing countries around the world, GCCA+ actions make a difference in the key areas and sectors affected by climate change.
Whatever and wherever the project, from the Pacific Islands to the heart of sub-Saharan Africa, the EU GCCA+ flagship initiative supports each country's priorities. Interventions at country level are designed in close collaboration between EU Delegations and national governments and local development partners, and are shaped in close consultation with other relevant partners.
